Research

The Solid State Chemistry Group has been developing a continuous research activity on the synthesis and characterization of inorganic materials, namely binary and ternary oxide materials exploring different synthesis methods, and methodologies, to design each material, in order to tailor its properties and improve its functionality for a specific application:

These research lines are integrated in the Sustainable Chemistry for Functional Molecules and Materials and also in the Biochemical Regulation, Disease Etiology and Therapeutics CQB strategic areas.

A large part of the research evolves with national and international collaborations which encompass the DEGGE/FCUL, CEFITEC/FCT/UNL, UBI, CIDETEC, Condensed Matter Physics Center (CFMC-FCUL) and the Department of Surgery and Cancer of Imperial College, London.
